TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day One – Sunday, August 20
Travel north to the picturesque Thousand Islands for a two-night stay at the Edgewood Resort in Alexandria Bay, NY. On arrival you will have free time for lunch on your in downtown Alex Bay. Then enjoy a wine tasting and tour at the Thousand Islands Winery. The owner spent years in the army based in Germany and was inspired to start his vineyard after seeing many similarities between the St. Lawrence and Rhine Rivers. Dinner is included at the hotel.


Day Two – Monday, August 21
After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring the historic castles of the Thousand Islands. Your cruise through the islands will weave between two nations (Canada & US) as you enjoy commentary on the history, myths, and legends of the St. Lawrence River. Stops will be made for a guided tour of Singer Castle and self-guided tour of Boldt Castle. A box-lunch will be provided on the boat between Castle visits. Through these tours, you will get a taste of the aristocratic life and see first-hand the glamour and grandeur of the Thousand Island’s Castles. Following a refresh at the hotel, sit-down for dinner at a local restaurant.


Day Three – Tuesday, August 22
Check-out after breakfast and make your way to Clayton, NY. A visit to the Antique Boat Museum will include a guided tour of the 106 ft long, La Duchesse houseboat, circa 1903. You will also have time for independent exploration of the museum’s galleries that cover the history of boating in North America from speed boats to and hand-made canoes. Prior to leaving the area, discover the charms of Clayton’s downtown area as you have free time for lunch on your own and last-minute shopping. Olean and Bradford guests will have time for a lite dinner snack at the Hornell Wegmans before continuing home.
