Our first stop will be to tour The 1890 House Museum is a historic castle-like house located on Tompkins Street. It was built in 1890 for industrialist Chester F. Wickwire (1843–1910) and was designed by architect Samuel B. Reed. The house is a mirror image sister house of an earlier mansion built for circus manager James Anthony Bailey in Harlem, New York City. The beautiful mosaic stained glass windows throughout the home were created by Henry F. Belcher. Learn about the house and those that lived there with a DOCENT LED TOUR.

Next, an INLCLUDED LUNCH is in order as we dine in a Cortland favorite, THE HOLLYWOOD RESTAURANT. This eclectic establishment has been in operation for over 40 years and boasts a collection vintage and reproduction movie posters, paying homage to Hollywood’s Golden Age. You do not have to travel to the west coast to feel like a movie star, and you will also see Marilyn Monroe while dining!

With a fully belly, we will depart for the CNY LIVING HISTORY CENTER. This engaging complex consists of three different museums all pertaining to three different aspects of history.  The Homeville museum focuses on military and local history, the Brockway museum focuses on Brockway Trucks and their history here in Cortland, and the Tractors of Yesteryear museum focuses on agricultural history. An afternoon visit will entertain and amaze with the various aspects of this slice of New York Americana.

Finally, we will make one last stop for a SWEET TREAT as we journey back into the Rochester region!
