TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day One – FLIGHT - ALBUQUERQUE: Today fly to Albuquerque, founded in 1706, where you will meet your Tour Director. Later check into your hotel in Albuquerque, locally known as “Duke City”. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Dinner with your fellow travelers.

Day Two – ALBUQUERQUE - OLD TOWN - SANTA FE: This morning visit the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center depicting the history and culture of New Mexico’s 19 Native American pueblos. Then explore the historic Old Town giving you the opportunity to stroll the historic adobe buildings that house over 150 shops, galleries and restaurants. Also see the icon of Old Town, the San Felipe de Neri Church. This afternoon, arrive in Santa Fe for a three-night stay. Santa Fe is famous for its holiday season decorations featuring a Southwestern flair. The Plaza is a holiday hub with luminarias(or farolitos)and other colorful seasonal displays.

Day Three – SANTA FE CITY TOUR: After breakfast enjoy a wonderful Santa Fe City Tour including details about the history, culture, and unique architecture of this artist’s mecca. See the Plaza, the Palace of the Governor’s, a Santa Fe landmark built in 1610, and visit the Loretto Chapel. Also visit, The Shop-A Christmas Store, located near the Plaza and one of the country’s oldest year -round Christmas stores. The store is well known for its inventory of holiday lights especially Luminarias and Chile Peppers. Enjoy the rest of the day and evening at your own pace in historic Santa Fe. During your Santa Fe leisure time maybe visit one of the many museums, stop by a few art galleries, explore the shops or relax at your hotel.

Day Four – TAOS CITY TOUR - TAOS PUEBLO: Depart this morning and travel north via the “High Road to Taos” passing through ancient villages founded in the 1700’s. Stop in the Spanish village of Chimayo to visit El Santuario, revered by pilgrims for the healing power of dirt found inside the chapel. Arrive in Taos, the historic home of the Pueblo Indians that sits atop a plateau between the Rio Grande and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Visit the Taos Pueblo, the only living Native American community designated both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a National Historic Landmark. The multi-storied adobe buildings have been continuously inhabited for over 1000 years. Enjoy a brief Taos City Tour and learn about this fascinating city rich in culture and scenery. Enjoy time and shopping in the Taos Plaza, also well known for its traditional holiday decorations. Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant in the Santa Fe area.

Day Five – SANTA FE - ALBUQUERQUE - HOME: Today travel to Albuquerque for your flight home. Return with wonderful memories of your Santa Fe Holiday Tour.
