TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day One – Saturday, June 1: Today we depart the Greater Rochester area, making comfort stops along the way.  Late afternoon check into our hotel, Courtyard by Marriott, Woburn, MA Enjoy an included dinner at a local restaurant. 


Day Two – Sunday, June 2 : Breakfast is included each morning of the tour. Today we will take the AMTRAK DOWNEASTER to Maine. We will have a NARRATED DRIVING TOUR OF THE COASTAL VILLAGES & KENNEBUNKPORT. We will drive past the sandy beaches and rocky coastline, past the George Bush Estate at Walker's Point and many other sites. Have lunch at your leisure at Dock Square in Kennebunkport. This afternoon, we will take a MAINE "LOBSTER BOAT" TOUR tour and see how Maine Lobstermen make their living and see the Maine Coast.  Later today, we will check into the Meadowmere Resort in Ogunquit, ME.   


Day Three – Monday, June 3: Today we travel from Maine to the CONWAY SCENIC RAILWAY in New Hampshire. After meeting your local guide, we will travel on what was once the Maine Central Railroad's famed Mountain Division line, on tracks that were laid in the 1870's. Enjoy some of the most dramatic natural scenery in the East as you travel through the spectacular Crawford Notch - past sheer bluffs, steep ravines, cascading brooks and streams, panoramic mountain vistas, across Frankenstein Trestle and Willey Brook Bridge en-route to Crawford Station. Live commentary onboard includes history and folklore of the railroad and area, as well as points of interest. A boxed lunch is included on the train. Following the train ride, meet the coach and driver at Crawford Station. Next we will continue touring through the White Mountains viewing the best of New Hampshire's sightseeing. Your guide is well veresed in the history geology and lore of the area. Next, we will check into the Mountain Club on Loon Resort in Lincoln, NH for a two-night stay. Dinner will be on your own at a local restaurant. 


Day Four – Tuesday, June 4: Meet your guide and travel south to Winnipesauke and enjoy a scenic one–way ride on LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE (one of the largest lakes enclosed in one state), aboard the 230’ M/S MOUNT WASHINGTON. Your journey on the ship brings you to the port of Wolfeboro, the Oldest Summer Resort in America. You will have free time for lunch on your own and shopping in the lakeside resort town of Woleboro. After lunch, tour the WRIGHT MUSEUM - a museum about the World War II years with both war exhibits such as aircraft and tanks and exhibits from everyday life. You will also visit to The OLD COUNTRY STORE in Moultonborough a store since 1781. In the late afternoon arrive at the MEREDITH STATION of the WINNIPESAUKEE RAILROAD TURKEY DINNER TRAIN.  Board the WINNIPESAUKEE SCENIC RAILROAD for a two-hour trip along Lake Winnipesauke. Ride the rails while eating HARTS HOT ROAST TURKEY carved at your table with all the trimmings! Return to your hotel after dinner. 


Day Five - Wednesday, June 5: Travel to Cape Cod this morning. Arrive at AD MAKEPEACE CRANBERRY BOG in time for an included LUNCH on your own at the local market on property. Next, is a BEHIND THE SCENES CRANBERRY BOG TOUR. You are welcomed to the largest cranberry operation in the world at the height of the blossom season! You will be greeted by an experienced grower who will step on your coach and take you out to the bogs so you can see the blossoms up close. Each tour is given a history of cranberry making, find out how the cranberry got its name, see examples of existing bogs as well as learn about all aspects of cranberry growing. The highlight of the tour will be to see and hear about the SPRING BOG POLLINATION by bees brought in to do the job! There are 2 ½ hives per acre and there are 2000 acres! Did you know they hire bees, which get flown in and pollinate the bogs?  The bees fly into their hives every night and then back out during the day to pollinate! Next, we will check into the Comfort Inn in Hyannis, MA or a two-night stay. Dinner is inluded at a Cape Cod Restaurant.


Day Six - Thursday, June 6: After meeing your local guide,You will begin in the “hub” of the Cape – HYANNIS. You will stop at the Kennedy Memorial and the Korean War Memorial, drive through the village of Hyannisport and view St. Francis Xavier Church.  Next, you will board a one-hour sightseeing HYANNIS HARBOR CRUISE featuring live commentary and views of the Kennedy Memorial, St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, the historic Kennedy Compound, Squaw Island and more! Lunch will be on own at SEAFOOD SAM'S RESTAURANT on the Cape Cod Canal. You will have time to visit the CAPE CANAL VISITOR'S CENTER. Admission is also included to the HERITAGE MUSEUMS & GARDENS. Heritage offers one hundred acres of trees, shrubs, flowers, and sweeping lawns. Be sure to visit the JK Lilly III Automobile Collection Museum, the American History Museum, and the Art Museum featuring an operating, hand-carved Carousel made in 1912. Also featured is the Old East Windmill built in 1800. A buffet dinner is included at the historic DAN'L WEBSTER INN


Day Seven - Friday, June 7: After breakfast we will depart for home with comfort stops with lunch on your own.
