Day Two – Monday, September 18, 2023: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning. Depart the hotel for a day full of touring. Visit the Quechee Gorge Visitor Center, walk to the Quechee Gorge and enjoy a picture stop at 'Vermont’s little Grand Canyon' for spectacular foilage views. The Quechee Gorge Village is one of New England's most popular natural wonders. Located in the heart of the Quechee Gorge, the village has evolved into one of the best shopping attractions in the state of Vermont. Visit Billings Farm and Museum - the Farm & Museum engages visitors in interactive experiences that encourage an appreciation for conversation, sustainable land use, and history, as well as respect for life. Visit Woodstock, VT for a quaint, quintessential Vermont village, as described by Ladies Home Journal for lunch and shopping on your own. No fast-food chains here! Visit the Green Mountain Sugar House to visit this family-owned and operated Sugarhouse and learn about this challenging industry. Did you know it takes 40 gallons of sap to make just 1 bucket of maple syrup? Dinner is included this evening. Return to your hotel for the remainder of the evening.
Day Three – Tuesday, September 19, 2023: Enjoy a full breakfast at your hotel this morning. Visit Ben and Jerry’s. No visit to VT is complete without a stop at the factory to learn how two, high school friends became entrepreneurs in the ice cream industry. Want to have your Ben & Jerry's ice cream the way it was originally intended? Head to their locally owned and operated Waterbury Ice Cream Shop and dig into any of their euphoric ice cream flavors in the way the first scoops were served up by Ben and Jerry back in 1978. Enjoy a Trapp Family Lodge Luncheon. Explore and discover on a Trapp Family Lodge History Tour. Visit the famed lodge where the Von Traps made their home after leaving their beloved Austria during World War II. The tour begins with an overview of the von Trapp family history – actual vs movie version, discussion of the property’s history and the family’s early years in America. View a documentary film of Maria von Trapp's memories during her final visit to her former home in Salzburg, Austria. Enjoy a Tour & Tasting at Shelburne Vineyard. It all started back in 2001 with a shoebox full of grapevine cuttings from a fellow in Minnesota. The owners had heard about these new, winter-hardy grape varieties and sent this guy in Minnesota an email. They stuck the cuttings in the ground, and they grew. Within a few years, grapes took over their strawberry fields, and now they find themselves one of the largest grape producers in the state of Vermont. Enjoy Dinner with a cooking demo at Café Provence. This chef-owned bistro will be a delightful way to end your touring day. Chef Robert and his experienced chefs offer a varied menu featuring ultra-fresh ingredients gathered from local purveyors of meat, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables produced right here in Vermont. As you enjoy dinner, Chef Robert will show you how to make one of the main dishes in his new state-of-the-art cooking kitchen demonstration area located right in the room where you are dining. Recipe cards accompany each and every meal. Following dinner, depart and return to your hotel after dinner.
