TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day One - Sunday, April 2: Arrive in Alexandria, Virginia and enjoy a guided walking tour of Old Town Alexandria. You will explore the historic district’s cobblestoned streets and red brick sidewalks before ending your tour with an included dinner at Gadsby’s Tavern (subject to final availability) - where nearly all the founders of American Independence enjoyed the warm hospitality. After dinner check into your hotel at the Fairfield Inn in Chantilly, Virginia.


Day Two - Monday, April 3: Breakfast is included daily. Today, you will travel out into Virginia and visit the home of the 4th President of the United States and Father of the Constitution & Bill of Rights – James Madison. After your tour of the mansion, you will enjoy an included lunch at one of the oldest homesteads in Virginia – Historic Michi Tavern. Once lunch is concluded, continue to Charlottesville, VA for an afternoon visit to Monticello - Thomas Jefferson’s home.  You will start with a visit to the Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center before taking a shuttle to the house and gardens. End your day with an included dinner on your way back to the hotel.


Day Three - Tuesday, April 4: Today a local guide will lead you on a tour that focuses on the monuments and memorials of the capital city. The day starts with a visit to the sacred grounds of Arlington National Cemetery. A tram will take you to JFK’s gravesite and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. After lunch on your own, you will take a “Pink Stroll” along the Tidal Basin to enjoy the Cherry Blossoms (subject to mother-nature’s timing). You will have the chance to visit the Jefferson Memorial, Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial, and Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial during your stroll.  A short transfer takes you on to stops at The Vietnam Veterans Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial, and The Korean War Veterans Memorial. Afterwards, enjoy an included dinner at a local restaurant before concluding your day with an Illuminated Monument Driving Tour with the majestic view of our Nation’s Renowned treasures including – the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Marine Corps Memorial, Washington Monument, and concluding at The National World War II Memorial.


Day Four - Wednesday, April 5: Today’s tour includes the White House Visitor’s Center. Here you can watch a film that takes you inside the White House and life of First Families. After the film, explore nearly 1,000 historic artifacts before a stop at The National World War I Memorial. Afterwards, head to the President Woodrow Wilson House. On you way you will drive by The Octagon House designed by Dr. William Thornton. Following, enjoy lunch on your own in the National Portrait Gallery at The Courtyard Café or one of the many restaurants in Penn Quarter. After lunch visit President Lincoln’s Cottage – where Lincoln lived for a quarter of his presidency. Concluding your day enjoy an included farewell dinner.


Day Five - Thursday, April 6: The last leg of your trip you will take you to the estate of George Washington – Mount Vernon. During your visit enjoy lunch on your own at the Mount Vernon food court and tour inside the mansion. After your tour hop on the bus to head home.
