Travel protection must be purchased at the time of booking and paid in full with the excursion deposit.
Day One – Tuesday, August 9: Journey with us to the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. On our way to Vermont, we will make a stop in downtown Saratoga Springs, NY for lunch on your own, before continuing to our home away from home at a lovely inn in the Killington Peak area. Upon arrival we will enjoy a welcome reception, followed by dinner at a local restaurant.
Day Two – Wednesday, August 10: After breakfast, depart with our local step-on guide for a day of touring. Learn how Vermont maple syrup is made and taste the different grades at Morse Maple Sugar Farm. Lunch is on your own in Montpelier –Vermont’s state capitol. Taste the flavor of newly made ice cream during your tour of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory. Complete the afternoon with a visit to Cabot Cheese and learn how cheese is made and sample the different varieties of delicious cheeses. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant, followed by an evening of entertainment from a local performer.
Day Three – Thursday, August 11: Arise to breakfast at the inn, then join our guide for another fun day! View one of the largest granite quarries from around the world at the Rock of Ages and visit the gift shop. At Danforth Pewter, we will see artisans at work and discover the history and romance of this timeless metal. Lunch is on your own in the charming town of Middlebury. Our afternoon will include a visit to a local vineyard or brewery (subject to availability of our travel partners). A gourmet dinner and live cooking demonstration featuring a Vermont chef who is sure to entertain “in the kitchen”. We will gather cooking tips, the recipe, and then taste the results!
Day Four – Friday, August 12: After breakfast, we will check-out and depart for Weston, VT and the popular Vermont Country Store, where nostalgia reigns. After our visit, we will continue south to Bennington for a photo stop at the Bennington Battle Monument, which commemorates the 1777 Battle of Bennington that is considered a turning point in the Revolutionary War. Before we depart for home, we will stop in downtown Bennington for lunch on your own that will complete your Vermont experience.
