TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Sunday, July 3, 2022: Travel by deluxe motorcoach across New York state and into the beautiful Hudson River Valley.  Stops will be made en route for your comfort and lunch on your own.  This afternoon you will arrive in Hyde Park and visit the home of Franklin D. Roosevelt.  This lovely 1826 estate includes the home, stables, icehouses, gardens, gravesites, monuments, and walking trails.  Later today you’ll arrive in the Fishkill area for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – Monday, July 4, 2022:  This morning after breakfast, your journey continues to West Point, where you will enjoy a guided tour of the U.S. Military Academy.  Highlights include Cadet Chapel, which features stained-glass windows and one of the largest church organs in the world, and Trophy Point, a repository of war relics dating from the American Revolution.  Following the tour, you will board the Captain J.P. II for a memorable cruise down the lovely Hudson River and into the New York City Harbor for the annual Macy’s Independence Day fireworks.  The Captain J.P. II is by far the largest and most lavish cruise vessel in the Capital Region of upstate New York.  This 300-passenger vessel features three decks, two of which are completely enclosed and equipped with central air.  On board the vessel, enjoy a delicious lunch and dinner along with various activities, live music, interesting commentary, and stunning views.  Later tonight following the cruise, transfer to the Times Square area and to Hotel Edison for a delightful two-night stay.

Day 3 – Tuesday, July 5, 2022:  Today is yours to enjoy as you wish. Your Tour Host will be available in the lobby at specified times to provide suggestions and guidance.  The 'Big Apple' is at your doorstep. Perhaps you will start with a NYC bagel, or visit a local diner for breakfast, or sleep in after our late night. Built in 1931 in the same grand Art Deco style as Radio City Music Hall, the Hotel Edison is situated in one of the most dynamic sections of New York City. Centrally located in Midtown Manhattan, Hotel Edison is just steps from Times Square.  Enjoy great shopping and sightseeing nearby including Rockefeller Plaza, St. Patrick Cathedral and Fifth Avenue.  An exciting place to stay in the heart of New York City!

Day 4 – Wednesday, July 6, 2022: Breakfast is on your own, before we check-out and travel to Lower Manhattan. You will have free time to visit the 911 Memorial and the surrounding area.  Perhaps you will take time to explore Santiago Calatrava’s modern architectural marvel, the World Trade Center Oculus which is easily accessed from the World Trade Center site.  After lunch on your own in the area, we will depart for home.  Comfort and meal stops will be made periodically.
