ADIRONDACK - RAQUETTE LAKE EXPLORE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2024 $185 Journey with us to Raquette Lake in New York’s famed Adirondacks for a day of exploration. On arrival, we will board the WW Durant for a two-hour scenic cruise that includes a luncheon buffet, and historic commentary about the lake and the “Great Camps” of the Gilded Age that dot the shores. Following our cruise, we will travel off the beaten path for a guided walking tour of Great Camp Sagamore. It was built in 1897 and boasts a storied history tied to Syracuse University, the Vanderbilts, and William West Durant – the designer behind many of the Adirondack’s camps. Today, Sagamore is a National Historic Landmark. Time allowing, our last stop of the day will be at the Old Forge Hardware where they describe themselves as “The Adirondack’s Most General Store.” A fast food dinner stop will be made en route home.
