TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day One – Monday, November 9, 2026: Depart the Rochester region for STOWE, VT. The destination is the world-famous TRAPP FAMILY LODGE for a two-night stay! Upon arrival enjoy TEA AND COOKIES in the library as we begin the check-in process. Once situated, get into the Christmas spirit with an ORNAMENT MAKING CLASS at the lodge where you will be able to take home your KEEPSAKE ORNAMENT. Following your class, enjoy AN INCLUDED DINNER in the main hall of the lodge’s BIERHALL, conveniently situated on the cross-country ski and mountain bike trails. The Bierhall is a gathering place for friends to enjoy “a little of Austria, a lot of Vermont,” serving fresh lager beers and a selection of freshly prepared Austrian lunch and dinner selections.  Many of the menu items are prepared on the wood-fired Parrilla grill that is the showcase feature of This awesome restaurant.


Day Two – Tuesday, November 10, 2026: 

Wake for a FULL VERMONT HOT AND COLD BUFFET at the hotel before meeting a LOCAL GUIDE FOR A DAY OF VERMONT TOURING. This driving tour includes Stowe and other quaint villages. Your guide will give you commentary about the history of the area and the unique way of life of Vermonters that make them so special.  Travel over scenic Route 100, known to as Quintessential Vermont and meander through hill and dale including a drive by EMILY’S COVERED BRIDGE and find out why it’s haunted (NoteWe will not stop at this bridge) Time allowing, there may even be a stop to Stowe for a DOWNTOWN HISTORY WALK with some free time to visit the shops. 

After our tour, stop at BEN AND JERRY’S FACTORY for a TOUR. The tour includes a company history video, a view of the production room and explanation of the manufacturing process, followed by a stop in the Flavoroom for a sample to delight your taste buds!  Next, experience a TOUR at COLD HOLLOW CIDER MILL. Hear how cider is made.  A BOX LUNCH is included. See a demonstration of how cider is made. It will be difficult to walk out of this gift shop without buying something and you will be surprised to find that it hosts an incredible variety of foods made from apples. 

Midafternoon, arrive back at the lodge for VON TRAPP HISTORY TOUR. This hour and a half experience gives you insight to the truth's and imagined story lines in the Sound of Music and gives you an in depth look at how the Von Trapps escaped Austria and ended up in beautiful Stowe, Vermont. Watch a 20-minute documentary about Maria's last trip to Salzburg…and if you are lucky, you will even get to meet a family member and hear what their experience was like growing up with Maria.

Tonight, INCLUDED DINNER will be presented in the BIERHALL.


Day Three – Wednesday, November 11, 2026: AN INCLUDED VERMONT BUFFET BREAKFAST starts the day before we check out and travel to BURLINGTON, VT to the ever-popular LAKE CHAMPLAIN CHOCOLATE FLAGSHIP STORE. Shop their delicious selection of gourmet chocolates, gifts, and factory seconds. Cap off your visit with an extraordinary drink from the espresso and hot chocolate café or try a scoop of their award-winning ice cream Indulge your senses with the ultimate INCLUDED CHOCOLATE TASTING. Join our chocolate experts for a fun and interactive experience. Explore how chocolate is made, discover what goes into crafting high-quality chocolate, and learn how to taste chocolate like a pro. Then put your skills to the test as you enjoy a flight of chocolate confections.

Before our trip home, we will make one last stop for a TOUR OF THE VERMONT TEDDY BEAR FACTORY. Welcome to the enchanting world of The Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, where love is woven into every stitch. The tour begins in the Bear-racks, where you'll be greeted by a large collection of Vermont Teddy Bear animals and learn about the history of the company.  Next, move on to the bustling assembly line, where each bear is carefully crafted. Watch as the fur is cut and stitched together with precision. The heads and limbs are stuffed with recycled plastic water bottles, giving each bear its perfect cuddly feel. See how the sewers add eyes and noses, giving every bear its own unique expression.  As the tour continues, discover the wide range of creatures designed at Vermont Teddy Bear. The tour concludes at the famous Vermont Teddy Bear Hospital, where beloved stuffed animals can receive care if ever needed. All bears are guaranteed for life and are treated by Dr. Pam. When a bear arrives at the hospital, Dr. Pam begins by triaging it using an admitting form that includes important details such as the bear’s name, age, fur color, known allergies (many bears come in with peanut allergies!), and permission for surgery. We then return home with great holiday memories to enjoy all season long!
