TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day One – Wednesday, August 26, 2026: Depart the Rochester area for Pennsylvania. Arrive at Fort Mifflin for a guided tour that focuses on a Revolutionary War battle and the site’s strategic location in the Delaware River at the mouth of the Schuylkill River. The fort survives with signs of the bombardment by British forces. The British fired more than 10,000 cannonballs at the fort, making it the greatest bombardment of the American Revolution. The tour concludes with a uniform and weapons demonstration followed by a cannon firing. After, enjoy an included dinner at Maggiano's Little Italy. Then after, check in to Holiday Inn Express Philadelphia - Penns Landing the duration of your visit.


Day Two – Thursday, August 27, 2026: Start your day with breakfast included at the hotel. After, Meet your guide in the Historic District. Experience the “Once Upon a Nation Story Stroll.”  Lace up your shoes and begin a walk-through America’s history. Story tellers will guide your group through four centuries of the stories that shaped a Nation. Tour Independence Hall. Independence Hall is a historic civic building in Philadelphia, where both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States were debated and adopted by the Founding Fathers of the United States. Stop at the Liberty Bell - The Liberty Bell bears a timeless message: "Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land unto All the Inhabitants thereof" Go beyond the iconic crack to learn how this State House bell was transformed into an extraordinary symbol. Visit Carpenters Hall, a treasure in historic Philadelphia. It hosted the First Continental Congress in 1774 and was home to Franklin's Library Company, The American Philosophical Society, and the First and Second Banks of the United States. See Christ Church & Burial Grounds. Founded in 1695, Christ Church hosted members of the Continental Congress during the American Revolution and Presidents George Washington and John Adams. Christ Church Burial Ground is one of America’s most unique Colonial and Revolution-era graveyards, with 1,400 markers on two beautiful acres. Most notably, this is where Benjamin Franklin is buried. Exterior only, guided admission not included. Next is the Betsy Ross House. Stitching America’s first flag is just a small part of the Betsy Ross story. Throughout the historic Betsy Ross House, you’ll discover artifacts, documents and historic interpreters that reveal the extraordinary life of an ordinary 18th century woman. Stroll along Elfreth’s Alley, the oldest continuously inhabited residential street in America. After, enjoy lunch on your own at guide’s discretion in the Historic District. More than 100 Old City restaurants offer great American fare and international cuisine, from fine dining to Philly’s best cheesesteaks. See our list below of restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, bakeries, and more. Next, visit National Constitution Center for a guided tour. Immerse yourself in the foundation of our Nation’s independence at the National Constitution Center, bringing together people of all ages and perspectives, to learn about, debate, and celebrate the greatest vision of human freedom in history, the United States Constitution. Tonight, dinner included at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant before returning to the hotel.


Day Three – Friday, August 28, 2026: Today, breakfast is included at the hotel before we head out to Washington Crossing Historic Park for a guided tour. Washington Crossing Historic Park offers more than 500 acres of American history, natural beauty and family fun. The park preserves the site where George Washington crossed the Delaware River and turned the tide of the Revolutionary War. Then enjoy an included lunch buffet at Washington Crossing Inn, before we visit Pennsbury Manor for a guided tour. Step back in time to the 17th century and immerse yourself in the captivating legacy of William Penn, a visionary who sought solace in the embrace of a country life. Visit the award-winning exhibit “William Penn: Seed of a Nation” providing a perspective on one of America’s most renowned Quakers and the founding principles that shaped the nation. Tonight your evening is free to explore and have dinner on own in downtown Philadelphia.


Day Four – Saturday, August 29, 2026: Breakfast is again included at the hotel. We depart this morning for a tour of Eastern State Penitentiary. This 19th-century landmark was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but stands today in ruin, a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks. Later, enjoy free time and lunch on own at Reading Terminal Market. Visitors can enjoy eating a wide swath of different cuisines, from sublime soul food and exquisite Asian and Middle Eastern dishes to authentic Philly cheesesteaks and traditional Pennsylvania Dutch fare — all available from largely locally owned, family-run stands. Discover history at the Museum of the American Revolution. The popular museum explores the dramatic, surprising story of the American Revolution through its unmatched collection of Revolutionary-era weapons, personal items, documents, and works of art. Tonight, dinner is included with a special guest appearance from Benjamin Franklin at Moshulu, the world’s oldest and largest square-rigged sailing vessel still afloat. She is in fact presently the one and only restaurant venue on a Tall Ship in the World. Built by William Hamilton & Co., Port of Glasgow, Scotland in 1904 for the G.J.H Siemers Co. of Hamburg, Germany as the four-masted barque Kurt. This “state-of-the-art” sailing ship was the finest and latest of man’s achievement in the world’s shipbuilding industry for the construction of bulk or packaged cargo sailing ships. After, return to the hotel or enjoy a final free evening in Philadelphia.


Day Five – Sunday, August 30, 2026: Enjoy an include breakfast at the hotel prior to checking out. Baggage handling is included. We stop at Valley Forge National Historical Park where General Washington & his Continental Army stayed during the long winter of 1777-78. Today, the park extends over 3,500 acres of rolling hills and is home to 20 miles of trails.  Journey through history as you walk past Washington’s stone headquarters, renovated log huts, and countless monuments, including the United States National Memorial Arch. A quick stop for lunch on own at King of Prussia Town Center will happen before we make our final leg of the journey home.
