TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day One –DEPART THE USA BOARD YOUR OVERNIGHT FLIGHT TO ITALY

Day Two – ARRIVE IN ETERNAL ROME: Welcome to Italy. After clearing customs, meet your Tour Director. Your tour begins with a 3-night stay in the “Eternal City” of Rome, the capital and largest city in Italy. A Welcome Dinner is included this evening.

Day Three – ROME THE COLOSSEUM ST. PETERS BASILICA: Enjoy a panoramic Rome City Tour with a local guide. Board your motorcoach for a relaxing panoramic tour of Imperial Rome to see some of the highlights of the city such as the Roman Forum, the Arch of Constan ne, Circus Maximus, Piazza Venezia, the Pantheon. Walk over cobblestone streets to see the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Novona and more. Next, walk in the footsteps of ancient gladiators during an in-depth visit inside the Colosseum. Later, visit St. Peters Basilica, see Michelangelo’s Pieta, sculpted when he was just 24 years old, as well as Bernini’s seven story bronze canopy located above the main altar. The evening is at leisure in Rome.

Day Four – ROME: The en re day is at leisure for independent sightseeing and to explore Rome as you wish. Indulge in an espresso in the Piazza Navona, shopping along Via del Corso Street or maybe walk up the Spanish Steps. Perhaps spend the day at the Va can Museums off ering a massive collec on of ancient Greek sculptures, medieval tapestries and Renaissance pain ngs and an opportunity to see the Sis ne Chapel and Michelangelo mural of The Last Judgement.

Day Five – ROME MONTECASSINO AMALFI COAST: Journey to the Amalfi Coast today, an iconic coastline of rocky beaches and towering cliff s. Stop at the Benedic ne monastery of Montecassino, perched on a mountaintop that played a pivotal role in World War II. Discover its history while exploring the monastery’s ornate chapel and courtyards. Later check into your hotel for a 4-night stay. Dinner is included this evening.

Day Six – SORRENTO: Start the day with a Sorrento Walking Tour, a coastal town facing the Bay of Naples on the Sorren ne Peninsula perched atop cliff s that separate the town from its marinas. The historic center is home to the Chiesa di San Francesco, a 14th-century church and is the birthplace of the Limoncello liqueur. Enjoy a Limoncello Demonstra on on how it’s made followed by a tas ng. The a ernoon is yours to enjoy lunch on your own and explore at your leisure. Perhaps some shopping along Corso Italia, Via Antonino Sersale or Via S. Nicola streets or visit Piazza Tasso, a cafe-lined square fi lled with ar san shops selling local wares.

Day Seven - AMALFI COAST: Enjoy a day at leisure to explore on your own. Perhaps join the full day op onal excursion to the Isle of Capri. Capri is an enchan ng and picturesque island, a favorite of the rich and famous, artists, and writers and one of Italy’s must-see places. Board a jetfoil boat for your journey across the Bay of Naples to the Isle of Capri. Upon arrival to the port of Capri you’ll transfer to Ana Capri with free me to explore on your own or visit Villa San Michele. Later return to Capri with free time to shop, explore and have lunch on your own.

Day Eight - AMALFI (UNESCO): After breakfast enjoy a full day tour of the Amalfi Coast. The Amalfi Coast is one of Europe’s most magnifi cent stretch of coastline and extends from Positano in the West to Vietresul Mare in the East. Today we see why with its breathtaking scenery,glamorous resorts hidden away on the spectacular corniche that winds its way past citrus planta ons, vineyards and ny villages clinging on to jagged cliff s that plunge straight into the sea. Con nue to Amalfi named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fi rst sight of Amalfi is unforge able, with its ghtly packed villas and palaces seeming to tumble down the cliff side into the fi shing port and beach below. Amalfi was once a mari me power to rival Venice, and its golden age is symbolized by its stunning cathedral and the Piazza Duomo.

Day Nine - EXPLORE POMPEII - NAPLES - ETERNAL ROME: Today we travel to Pompeii, one of Italy’s most unique and famous archaeological sites. Explore an ancient community captured in me – the excavated ruins of the Roman city of Pompeii, buried in volcanic ash when Mt. Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD literally stopping me it in its tracks. Walk through city streets on a guided visit where you’ll discover remarkably preserved ancient architecture and ar facts that portray what daily life was like in this 1st century city. Next, travel to Naples and enjoy a panoramic city tour seeing the Cathedral with its treasure chapel and basilica, da ng back to the 4th century, the Royal Palace, the beau ful church of St. Francesco di Paula, the Town Hall Square and more. Enjoy a pizza making class and lunch. Arrive in Rome later today for an overnight stay.

Day Ten - ROME - CIAO! HOMEWARD BOUND: CIAO. Transfer to the airport to board your fl ight home with wonderful memories of Italy’s Amalfi Coast & Rome OR continue your Italy adventure and travel to Florence on the optional extension.
