TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day One – Your journey to the 44th Annual Norfolk Waterfront Jazz Festival begins with a scenic drive to Richmond, Virginia. After settling into the Drury Plaza Hotel, you’ll kick off the trip with a hearty INCLUDED DINNER, resting up for the history and music ahead.

Day Two – This morning, you’ll step back in time at A Historic St. John’s Church dramatic reenactment of the 2nd Virginia Convention, culminating in Patrick Henry’s legendary “Give me liberty or give me death!” speech. From there, you’ll head to the coast to explore Nauticus and walk the teak decks of the Battleship Wisconsin, the largest ever built by the U.S. Navy.

Your evening transition into the jazz scene is seamless; you’ll check into the Norfolk Waterside Marriott, perfectly situated right across the street from the festival grounds. After dinner at the vibrant Waterside District, you’ll take your reserved seats for the opening night of the Norfolk Waterfront Jazz Festival at Town Point Park, enjoying world-class smooth jazz under the stars.

Day Three – Today offers a change of pace with a visit to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. You’ll explore the sprawling 175-acre grounds and its 60 themed gardens via a private tram tour, soaking in the natural beauty of the Virginia coast before another evening of festival performances.

Your Saturday continues with a move from the gardens to the trendy Historic Ghent Neighborhood, where you'll have free time to shop and grab lunch. The afternoon takes a sophisticated turn at Mermaid Winery, Virginia’s first urban winery, for a guided flight tasting led by a wine educator. You'll then explore the Hermitage Museum & Gardens, a stunning 12-acre waterfront estate filled with thousands of years of art and history. The day concludes with your second night of reserved seating at the Norfolk Waterfront Jazz Festival, along with a casual dinner on your own at the lively Waterside District.

Day Four – Sunday blends intrigue with relaxation. After breakfast, you'll embark on the Norfolk Scandals Walking Tour, a fascinating look into the city’s gritty past of riots, robberies, and red-light districts. To lighten the mood, you'll board the Spirit of Norfolk for a luncheon cruise, enjoying a buffet and sweeping harbor views as you sail the Elizabeth River. Your afternoon is spent at the world-class Chrysler Museum of Art, home to a massive collection donated by automotive heir Walter P. Chrysler Jr., followed by an included farewell dinner at a local favorite restaurant.

Day Five – On your final morning, you'll enjoy a final included breakfast at the Marriott before a bit of retail therapy. The trip wraps up with free time to explore some shopping in the heart of downtown Norfolk. Take time to have lunch on your own before climbing aboard our coach headed for ROCKVILLE, MD. Tonight, check in will be at the BEST WETERN PREMIER ROCKVILLE HOTEL & SUITES. Relax and recuperate from a great trip before getting up the next morning and heading home after an INCLUDED BREAKFAST. Jazz music will be accompanying you along the entire trip!
