Itinerary:

Day 1 - October 14, 2026: Begin your journey in comfort aboard a luxury motor coach as we head to TARRYTOWN, NY. Our hotel check in will be at the Sheraton Hotel, Tarrytown (or similar). Welcome gathering & DINNER is included this evening at the hotel.

Day 2 - October 15, 2026: HOT BREAKFAST (included) at leisure at the hotel before beginning our exciting day of touring.

We will be joined by a knowledgeable local Step-On Guide, who will share fascinating history and stories as we travel through the Hudson Valley.

Our first stop is a guided tour of the prestigious U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Founded in 1802, West Point is the oldest continuously occupied military post in the United States. As we tour the grounds, you’ll learn about its rich traditions, admire its breathtaking views of the Hudson River, and see significant landmarks such as the Cadet Chapel, Trophy Point, and the Parade Grounds.

LUNCH (included) will be served at the historic Thayer Hotel, located right on the West Point campus. This landmark hotel, built in 1926, has hosted Presidents, dignitaries, and famous leaders from around the world. Enjoy a delicious meal while soaking in its grand military-inspired architecture and river views.

In the afternoon, enjoy a GUIDED TOUR of the OLD DUTCH CHURCH GRAVEYARD in Sleepy Hollow. Dating back to the late 1600s, this National Historic Landmark is one of the oldest churches in New York State. As you stroll among the ancient gravestones, you’ll hear intriguing tales of early settlers, Revolutionary War patriots, and even the lore that inspired Washington Irving’s Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

DINNER (included) will be enjoyed at a local restaurant, featuring regional flavors in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

This evening, experience a magical fall tradition: the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. Set along the grounds of Van Cortlandt Manor, this spectacular event features over 7,000 hand-carved, illuminated pumpkins arranged into breathtaking displays — from towering skeletons and glowing bridges to themed installations set to music. Wander at your own pace through this enchanting Halloween wonderland, sure to be a highlight of the trip.

Day 3, October 16, 2026: HOT BREAKFAST (included) at leisure at the hotel before beginning another day of history, culture, and legend.

Our morning begins with a guided tour of Sunnyside, the enchanting Hudson River estate of Washington Irving, beloved author of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This fairy-tale cottage, with its Dutch-inspired architecture, vine-covered walls, and tranquil riverside gardens, reflects Irving’s romantic vision of life. Learn about his remarkable career as America’s first internationally celebrated author and hear how this peaceful retreat inspired some of his most famous works.

Lunch on your own in Tarrytown, where you’ll have free time to explore this charming river village. Stroll its quaint streets, discover local shops, and choose from a variety of inviting cafés and eateries.

This afternoon, step into the grandeur of the Gilded Age with a guided tour of Lyndhurst Mansion. This magnificent Gothic Revival estate, once home to railroad tycoon Jay Gould, boasts stunning architecture, lavish interiors, and sweeping views of the Hudson River. As you walk through its richly decorated rooms, you’ll get a glimpse of the opulent lifestyle of one of America’s wealthiest families of the 19th century.

DINNER (included) will be enjoyed at a local restaurant, offering a welcoming atmosphere and a delicious regional menu.

This evening, gather for a memorable cultural experience: an outdoor performance of Irving’s Legend. Master storyteller Jonathan Kruk, accompanied by live music, brings Washington Irving’s timeless tale of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman to life in an unforgettable setting beneath the autumn night sky. This captivating performance is the perfect way to end a day steeped in Hudson Valley history and lore.

Day 4, October 17, 2026: Farewell for Now - Enjoy your final breakfast at the hotel, then prepare to depart with warm memories and new stories to tell. We’ll make comfort stops and allow time for lunch on the return journey home.
