TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Sunday June 7,  2026: Arrive at QUINCY MARKET.  For over 250 years the marketplace has played an integral role in the life of Boston’s residents.  You will feel the cobblestones beneath your  feet, see roaming performers and be able to taste the wonderfully diverse ethnic foods available to you.  There are 100 shops, carts and artisans to offer treasures for you to take home with you! Dinner on your own at Quincy Market. CHECK IN after dinner.


Day Two - Monday June 8, 2026: BREAKFAST at the hotel this morning. This morning take the AMTRAK DOWNEASTER to Maine.  Relax and enjoy a scenic ride aboard the Amtrak Downeaster as you travel from Massachusetts to the charming coastal towns of Maine. This comfortable and convenient rail journey offers picturesque views of New England’s landscapes—rolling countryside, seaside villages, and historic towns—making it a stress-free way to explore the Northeast. Sit back, enjoy onboard amenities, and arrive refreshed and ready to discover all that Maine has to offer. Meet your local guide when you disembark to board your coach. Upon arrival, we will take a NARRATED & GUIDED DRIVING TOUR OF THE COASTAL VILLAGES OF KENNEBUNK & KENNEBUNKPORT. Drive past the sandy beaches and rocky coastline, past the George Bush Estate at Walker's Point and many other sites and have lunch on your own at DOCK SQUARE in Kennebunkport. This afternoon, enjoy the LOBSTERBOAT CRUISE!  On this tour you will learn about the lobsterman’s trade on coastal Maine.  Enjoy a scenic ride. You can watch lobster traps being hauled up from the ocean floor or try your hand! CHECK IN at your hotel.  Hotel: Holiday Inn Express, Wells, Maine (or similar). MAINE LOBSTER DINNER.  For those who wish, we have a chicken & vegetarian option.


Day Three - Tuesday June 9, 2026: BREAKFAST included this morning. Prepare for CHECK OUT and departure. Travel from Maine to the Conway Scenic Railway in New Hampshire. We will meet our local guide for a day of touring. Arrive in time for a BOX LUNCH included at the Cog Railway. There will be time for the gift shop and the museum too. THE WORLDS FIRST MOUNTAIN CLIMBING COG RAILWAY. “Enjoy a Scenic Train Ride to the Summit of Mount Washington, the Northeast's Highest Peak! Trains run rain, snow or shine and may be steam or diesel poweredThe round-trip cog ride takes approximately three hours, generally including one hour stop at the summit. We recommend that you bring a camera and extra jacket or sweater.  Remember, some trains are fired by coal -- so dress accordingly.” Quote excerpted from internet site. Continue touring through the WHITE MOUNTAINS. Photo opportunities at scenic vistas. Travel through notch’s cut from the glaciers and enjoy the scenic nature of New Hampshire. Your guide is well versed in the history, geology and lore of the area.  These fascinating details will be imparted to you as enjoy you travel from place to place today. Day Four - Wednesday June 10, 2026: BREAKFAST included this morning. Our LOCAL GUIDE takes us on a scenic sightseeing day. Travel south to Winnipesauke and enjoy a scenic one –way ride on LAKE WINNIPESAUKE (one of the largest lakes enclosed in one state), aboard the 230’ M/S MOUNT WASHINGTON. Your journey on the ship brings you to the port of Wolfeboro, the Oldest Summer Resort in America. LUNCH on your own and shopping in the delightful lakeside resort town of Wolfeboro. After lunch, tour the WRIGHT MUSEUM - a museum about the World War II years with both war exhibits such as aircraft and tanks and exhibits from everyday life.  You will also visit to The OLD COUNTRY STORE in Moultonborough a store since 1781. In the late afternoon arrive at the MEREDITH STATION of the WINNIPESAUKE RAILROAD TURKEY DINNER TRAIN.  Board the WINNIPESAUKEE SCENIC RAILROAD for a two-hour trip along Lake Winnipesauke. Ride the rails while eating HARTS HOT ROAST TURKEY carved at your table with all the trimmings!   Return to the hotel after dinner train.


Day Five - Thursday June 11, 2026: BREAKFAST included this morning. CHECK OUT & Travel to Vermont this morning. Arrive in Bennington at the PUBLYK HOUSE for an included lunch. STERLING AND FRANCINE CLARK ART INSTITUTE just a few minutes from the WILLIAMS COLLEGE CAMPUSfor a SELF GUIDED TOUR. Nestled in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts it is well known for its extraordinary collection of Impressionists and Renaissance paintings as well as the works of popular American Artists such as Frederic Remington and Winslow Homer. The museum houses a collection of more than 30 Renoirs.  Also see a sculpture collection, exceptional examples of English silver, porcelain, early photographs, many prints and drawings, along with various decorative arts. The museum is set on 130 acres. CHECK IN at your Berkshire hotel after dinner. DINNER included at a local restaurant.


Day Six– Friday, June 12, 2026: BREAKFAST included this morning. TOUR of the MOUNT, which was the home of Edith Wharton, the first woman to receive the Pulitzer Prize - for her work "The Age of Innocence".  (1920)  Edith Wharton oversaw the design, construction and furnishing of The Mount and its gardens.  A National Historic Landmark, the tour reveals the history of The Mount from its building to its restoration, and chronicles Wharton’s life, her remarkable achievements and her literary legacy. The house tour features three floors of elegant formal and private rooms. Highlights include Wharton’s library, her newly restored bedroom suite, and back of the house areas, including the old kitchen. Tours appeal to lovers of architecture, restoration, history, and literature; and can be customized to emphasize a particular area of interest.  One of our skilled guides will lead your group on an hour-long exploration of Edith Wharton’s gracious summer home. SANDWICH and SALAD LUNCH at the Mount after your tour. Depart for home.  We will make a pay on own rest/comfort stop en route home. Early evening arrival home.
