TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day One - Sunday December 12, 2027:  Depart via luxury motor coach and travel to the Washington, DC Metro area. Arrive in Oxon Hill, MD to check into the GAYLORD NATIONAL RESORT & CONVENTION CENTER for a three-night stay. See the region’s most beautiful Christmas decorations with thousands of twinkling lights and a 55-foot-tall Starlight Christmas Tree suspended over the indoor garden atrium. The evening is free to enjoy dinner on your own and the spectacular decorations around the harbor. Enjoy the light shows in the Gaylord Atrium or nightly Indoor Snowfall and a Sights & Sounds of the Season Show. A RIDE ON THE CAPITAL WHEEL is also included. Soar 180 feet above the Potomac River and marvel at truly breathtaking views!

Day Two - Monday December 13, 2027: - Enjoy BREAKFAST at the café (with voucher) and then depart to meet your DC guide for a visit the U.S. BOTANIC GARDENS, one of the oldest botanic gardens in North America. This living plant museum was established by Congress in 1820 and is decorated with colorful poinsettias for the holidays. Afterwards, you will arrive in the Penn Quarter for lunch on your own and free time to explore the DOWNTOWN HOLIDAY MARKET with over 150 regional artisans, crafters, and boutique businesses as well as lively seasonal entertainment. You’re sure to find something special for everyone on your gift list. Also, visit THE NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY on your own, including the “America’s Presidents” … the only complete collection of presidential portraits outside the White House. In mid-afternoon you will visit the BASILICA OF THE NATIONAL SHRINE OF IMMACULATE CONCEPTION, the largest Roman Catholic church in North America; enjoy a seated overview tour followed by free time to visit the Gift Shop. Later, you will depart for a visit to the PATHWAY OF PEACE to see the National Christmas Tree which is surrounded by 56 state, district, and territory trees decorated by school children chosen from each state. After your visit, stop at the Pathway of Peace to see the NATIONAL CHRISTMAS TREE, surrounded by 56 state, district, and territory trees which are decorated by school children. DINNER has been arranged for you at an area restaurant. Your day will end with a DRIVING TOUR OF THE ILLUMINATED MONUMENTS to include memorials, buildings, fountains and visits to the NATIONAL WORLD WAR II MEMORIAL and the MARINE CORPS MEMORIAL (IWO JIMA STATUE). Drop off your guide and return to your hotel for a restful evening.

Day Three - Monday December 14, 2027: Enjoy BREAKFAST at the café (with voucher), then visit the ICE! EXHIBIT as you step into a winter wonderland carved by expert artisans out of two millions pounds of colorful ice. Afterwards, enjoy lunch on your own and free time to shop at the National Harbor. This afternoon you will travel to MOUNT VERNON to visit George Washington’s estate for a MOUNT VERNON CHRISTMAS featuring the most unique holiday shopping of the season. View the beautifully decorated Mansion and grounds. TOUR THE MANSION and discover what the Washingtons, enslaved people, and hired workers ate during this season. Learn how food was grown, preserved, prepared, and served during the holiday season. You will also watch 18th-century demonstrations and hear stories of Christmases past from costumed characters. Later, you will DRIVE THROUGH THE WINTER FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS AT WATKINS REGIONAL PARK in Upper Marlboro, MD. The dazzling three-mile drive takes you through a display of over a million LED lights. Afterwards, return to your hotel to enjoy dinner on your own and free time at National Harbor.

Day Four - Tuesday December 15, 2027: - Following BREAKFAST at the café (with voucher), check out and depart for home with lasting holiday memories of Washington’s Capital Christmas.
