TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

Day 1 – Monday, August 10, 2026 - Depart this morning for scenic GAYLORD, MICHIGAN, traveling through Canada and enjoying views of the Great Lakes region along the way. An independent lunch stop will be made en route, allowing guests to enjoy lunch. This evening, enjoy DINNER at a local restaurant before continuing north to Mackinaw City, the gateway to the Straits of Mackinac. Board the FERRY  TO MACKINAC ISLAND, where motor vehicles are prohibited and horse-drawn carriages set the pace of life. Upon arrival, check into the historic LAKE VIEW HOTEL, ideally located near downtown and the waterfront, for a two-night stay.

Day 2 – Tuesday, August 11 - Begin the day with a CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST BOX at the hotel before immersing yourself in the timeless charm of MACKINAC ISLAND. Enjoy a narrated HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGE TOUR, highlighting the island’s Victorian architecture, Fort Mackinac, Arch Rock, and sweeping shoreline views. Late morning brings a memorable LUNCHEON BUFFET AT THE WORLD-FAMOUS GRAND HOTEL, renowned for its elegant dining room, historic ambiance, and iconic front porch—the longest in the world. The afternoon and evening are at leisure, perfect for shopping along Main Street, sampling Mackinac’s famous fudge, biking the island perimeter, or simply relaxing and soaking in the island’s peaceful atmosphere.

Day 3 – Wednesday, August 12 - After a CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST BOX, check out and return via ferry to Mackinaw City. Travel south to charming CHARLEVOIX, a picturesque harbor town along Lake Michigan. Enjoy a GUIDED VISIT to the whimsical MUSHROOM HOUSES, designed by architect Earl Young and known for their fairytale appearance. Following independent lunch time in downtown Charlevoix, continue to historic CASTLE FARMS, where a GUIDED TOUR reveals the fascinating history of this former model dairy farm turned elegant estate and event venue. Proceed to Traverse City, the heart of Michigan’s cherry country, and check into the Hampton Inn (or similar hotel) for the evening. AN INCLUDED DINNER at a local restaurant, followed by a highlight of the trip—a TALL SHIP MANITOU EVENING SAIL, offering breathtaking sunset views over Grand Traverse Bay aboard an authentic schooner.

Day 4 – Thursday, August 13 - Enjoy BREAKFAST AT THE HOTEL before departing for Frankenmuth, Michigan’s beloved Bavarian-style village. Upon arrival, enjoy independent lunch and free time to explore its charming streets, specialty shops, and riverside setting. A visit to BRONNER'S CHRISTMAS WONDERLAND follows— the world’s largest Christmas store, featuring year-round holiday décor from around the globe. This evening, check into the SpringHill Suites by Marriott (or similar hotel) and savor a FAMOUS FAMILY-STYLE CHICKEN DINNER at an iconic Frankenmuth restaurant.

Day 5 – Friday, August 14 - After included BREAKFAST AT THE HOTEL, check out and begin the journey home through Canada. Independent meal and comfort stops will be made along the way, concluding a memorable Great Lakes adventure filled with history, scenery, and Midwestern charm. An early evening arrival is planned.
