We will travel to LANCASTER, PA making pay on own meal and comfort stops en route. Late afternoon hotel check in at the EDEN RESORT & SUITES. Two restaurants and cocktail lounge on premises - Arthur's Terrace and Garfield's. Three pools, including large indoor heated pool with whirlpool spa. Three elevators with easy access to all rooms. All interior cooridors. Coffee maker and refrigerator in all rooms. Enjoy included DINNER at SHADY MAPLE SMORGASBORD. Shady Maple invites you to discover the unique experience of dining at Lancaster County's largest smorgasbord. What began as a roadside vegetable stand nestled in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country has now become an expansive buffet-style restaurant and a large farm market with its own bakery, smokehouses, and impressive produce department. The smorgasbord menu features a different grill specialty every night of the week along with seven other meats, 14 vegetables, plus 40 salad bar items, and over 30 desserts. Shady Maple's cooks prepare great-tasting food in a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch style. After feasting on the all-you-can-eat smorgasbord, your group will be delighted to explore their gigantic 41,000-square foot gift shop located on the lower level. Enjoy picturesque scenery as you meander across country roads where time seems to stand still. See the pristine Amish farms, one-room schoolhouses, windwheels, Amish "phone booths" and farmers working the fields with their horse or mule-drawn plows. Stop at an AMISH QUILT AND CRAFT SHOP, right on an Amish Farm! Have an opportunity to meet the Amish in person as ou browse through a colorful array of exquisite handmade quilts and unique country crafts. The incredible AMT singers, dancers, and orchestra will perform favorites such as "Away in a Manager," "Jingle Bells," "Hark, The Herald Angels Sing," "Let it Snow," and "Carol of the Bells" live on stage. Awe-inspiring music and dance, phenomenal voices, and light-hearted holiday humor are the ingredients for this season's all-new extravaganza. Wednesday, November 13, 2024: BUFFET BREAKFAST at the hotel this morning. Breakfast typically includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, fresh seasonal fruits, pastries, doughnuts, muffins and cold cereals. Served with coffee, tea, milk and juice. Check out of hotel and enjoy an hour at the BIRD IN HAND FARMERS MARKET. Here, you will find a brightly lit, well-kept market featuring approximately 30 local vendors offering a wide variety of homemade baked goods, spices, bulk foods, specialty teas and coffee, fresh fruits and vegetables, canned goods and preserves, meats, cheeses, nuts, dips, fudge and candy. There are handmade quilts, leather goods, wooden toys and beautiful silk flower arrangements. Watch funnel cakes, soft pretzels and fudge being made, and enjoy a delicious sandwich, homemade soup or daily luncheon special at one of our snack counters. (If you wish, bring a small soft sided cooler, add ice at the hotel prior to departure). Following our visit, head to the SIGHT AND SOUND MILLENNIUM THEATER for the 11:00 am performance of "DANIEL." From the fiery furnace to the infamous den of lions, DANIEL is a spectacular theatrical experience for the whole family. Witness one of the Bible's most hope-filled stories as it comes to life in this brand-new original stage production from Sight and Sound Theaters. Following the show, we are off to the HERSHEY FARM RESTAURANT for a FAMILY STYLE MEAL. Located next to Sight and Sound Millennium Theater in the heart of Lancaster County, Hershey Farm Restaurant is the place to bring groups for friendly service and excellent food. Enjoy golden fried chicken, tender roast beef, baked ham, real mashed potatoes, bread filling, green beans, buttered corn, sweet & sour relishes, homemade rolls, shoofly pie, apple pie, hand-dipped vanilla ice cream, and fresh brewed sweetened/unsweetened iced tea and coffee. After the meal is finished, your group may visit their country store, boutique, outdoor market, or bakery. Depart for WNY after our visit making a pay on your own brief fast food stop and comfort stop en route home.
