"Enjoy the ORIGINAL HISTORIC FIRESIDE FEAST at the SALEM CROSS INN. Relax by the fieldstone fireplace as the crackling fire roasts your prime rib "to a turn" by rotating it slowly over a crackling fire of wild cherry logs. This jack is the only known 1700's antique roasting jack that was used to roast fowl and beef in New England that is still in use. The flavor of the fireplace roasted prime rib is unsurpassed. This event has been featured on the Food Network, Chronicle and the Phantom Gourmet. Beware the brimming bowl of freshly whipped cream - the perfect complement to New England's best apple pie." Following dinner, we will check into our hotel for the evening THE DOUBLETREE BY HILTON.

Monday, September 16, 2024: BREAKFAST BUFFET at the hotel. Following check out, board the AMTRAK DOWNEASTER to Maine. Upon arrival in MAINE, board the motorcoach and take a NARRATED DRIVING TOUR OF THE COASTAL VILLAGES OF KENNEBUNK AND KENNEBUNKPORT. Drive past the sandy beaches and rocky coastline, past the George Bush estate at Walker's Point and many other sites and have lunch on your own at DOCK SQUARE in Kennebunkport. Following lunch on own, experience a LOBSTERBOAT CRUISE. On this tour you will learn about the lobsterman's trade on coastal Maine. Enjoy a scenic ride. You can watch lobster traps being hauled up from the ocean floor or try your hand. After our cruise, we will check into our hotel, HAMPTON INN, KENNEBUNKPORT, ME. This evening you will enjoy a MAINE LOBSTER DINNER with your choice of Maine boiled lobster or barbecued chicken, includes coffee, tea, iced and lemonade. Cash cocktail bar available.

Tuesday, September 17, 2024: Following BREAKFAST at the hotel, we will meet our guide and travel south to Winnipesauke and enjoy a scenic one-way ride on the ship on LAKE WINNIPESAUKE (one of the largest enclosed in one state), aboard the 230' M/S MOUNT WASHINGTON. Your journey on the ship brings you to the port of Wolfeboro, the Oldest Summer Resort in America. Lunch on your own and shopping in the delightful lakeside resort town of Wolfeboro. After lunch, tour the WRIGHT MUSEUM - a museum about the World War II years with both war exhibits such as aircraft and tanks and exhibits from everyday life. You will also visit the OLD COUNTRY STORE in Moultonborough, a store since 1781. In the late afternoon, arrive at the MEREDITH STATION of the WINNIPESAUKE RAILROAD TURKEY DINNER TRAIN. Board the WINNIPESAUKE SCENIC RAILROAD for a two-hour trip along  Lake Winnipesauke. Ride the rails while eating HARTS HOT ROAST TURKEY carved at your table with all the trimmings! After the ride, arrive at the hotel.

Wednesday, September 18, 2024: BREAKFAST at the hotel, then meet your GUIDE. On the CONWAY SCENIC RAILWAY TRAIN, you'll travel on what was once the Maine Central Railroad's famed Mountain Division line, on tracks that were laid in the 1870s. Enjoy some of the most dramatic natural scenery in the East as you travel through spectacular Crawford Notch - past sheer bluffs, steep ravines, cascading brooks and streams, panoramic mountain vistas, across Frankenstein Trestle and Willey Brook Bridge en route to Crawford Station. As you travel through this rugged terrain, you can begin to appreciate what a remarkable engineering achievement constructing this railroad was almost 140 years ago. Live commentary onboard includes history and folklore of the railroad and area, as well as points of interest. BOXED LUNCH is included on the train. Train ride ends and you will meet the motor coach and driver at Crawford Station and continue touring through the WHITE MOUNTAINS viewing the best of New Hampshire's fall foliage. Photo opportunities at scenic vistas. Travel through notch's cut from the glaciers and enjoy the scenic nature of New Hampshire. Check into the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS, LINCOLN, NH. DINNER is included at a local restaurant.

Thursday, September 19, 2024: BREAKFAST at the hotel, check out and depart for VERMONT. Visit the VERMONT COUNTRY STORE. "Today, the Vermont Country Store is owned by Lyman Orton and sons Cabot, Gardner, and Eliot, 7th and 8th generation Vermonters, and 4th and 5th generation storekeepers. They adhere to the old-fashioned values set forth by Vrest and take pride in being Purveyors of the Practical and Hard-to-Find. In today's global economy, merchants at the Vermont Country Store search throughout the nation and abroad to find goods that fill the needs of American and International customers alike. Speaking for the Orton family, Eliot says, 'We still go to great lenths to find products that aren't sold anywhere else.'" Quote excerpted from internet site. Travel to lunch in BENNINGTON at the PUBLYK HOUSE for an included lunch. You will choose an entree: roast turkey dinner served with mashed potatoes, stuffing, pan gravy and cranberry sauce; homemade layered meatloaf served with mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy and cheddar cheese; baked New England cod with a Vermont cheddar and cracker crumb topping with lemon buerre blanc served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetable medley; OR penne pasta primavera with tri-color peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes, carrots and onions tossed with pasta in olive oil, garlic, butter and white wine. Following our lunch, we will visit an APPLE ORCHARD STORE. This evening, we will enjoy an included DINNER and then check into our hotel in Massachusetts.

Friday, September 20, 2024: BREAKFAST at the hotel and then check out. Visit the NORMAN ROCKWELL MUSEUM for a tour. See many of the illustrator's works in the original oil paintings at your own pace. There are gallery talks, Rockwell's Studio and a gift shop to explore. Following our visit, we will depart for home with a meal stop and comfort stops en route home.
