TENTATIVE ITINERARY:

September 10, 2026, Day 1: Depart WNY and travel aboard a luxury motor coach en route to the greater CHICAGO area for the first night. As we travel rest and meal stops will be made periodically. Dinner is on own en route. Overnight accommodation at the Hampton Inn, Munster, IL. 

September 11, 2026, Day 2: BREAKFAST included. This morning enjoys a STEP ON GUIDED TOUR OF CHICAGO before boarding AMTRAK’S SOUTHWEST CHIEF for a MEMORABLE JOURNEY TO FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA. This splendid rail excursion will take us across the mighty Mississippi and through seven states past wheat fields, ranches, mission, pueblos, mountains, and deserts. OVERNIGHT ON AMTRAK IN SELECTED TRAIN ACCOMMODATIONS. If purchasing roomette or bedroom on the train, your 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 3 dinners are included on the train. All coach passengers must pay for their own meals. 

September 12, 2026, Day 3: Today the Chief glides across NEW MEXICO AND ARIZONA. Traveling through the sun-drenched landscape, we will feel the presence of the ancient tribes who roamed the rocky cliffs and canyons and the Spanish conquistadors who explored the new world. Enjoy a meal in the full-service dining car or witness breathtaking scenery from the panoramic observation car. Later this evening we arrive in FLAGSTAFF FOR A TWO-NIGHT STAY at the Springhill Suites by Marriott. 

September 13, 2026, Day 4: Following BREAKFAST we depart Flagstaff and travel into OAK CREEK CANYON, known for its striking white, yellow and red cliffs dotted with pine, cypress, and juniper. Visit SEDONA, a trendy retirement area situated amid the red-hued rocks of Oak Creek Canyon. Enjoy free time for lunch, SHOPPING AND SIGHTSEEING IN THIS BEAUTIFUL RESORT COMMUNITY OF SEDONA. DINNER included this evening. 

September 14, 2026, Day 5: BREAKFAST included. The GRAND CANYON is one of the world’s most outstanding spectacles. Measuring 277 miles long, 10 miles wide and nearly one mile deep, the Grand Canyon is the largest gorge on the globe. ENJOY THE DAY TOURING THE SOUTH RIM. SEVERAL STOPS AT OBSERVATION POINTS ARE MADE along the canyon drive with time to enjoy the GRAND CANYON VILLAGE AND VISITOR CENTER. Later today we will travel to PAGE, ARIZONA FOR A TWO-NIGHT STAY at the Hyatt Place Hotel. 

September 15, 2026, Day 6: BREAKFAST. Embark aboard a memorable SIGHTSEEING CRUISE ALONG 186-MILE-LONG LAKE POWELL. This fabulous excursion will present an ever-changing array of scenery as we journey through hidden canyons, into sandy coves and inlets and along towering red cliffs. This area is also home to GLEN CANYON DAM, ONE OF THE HIGHEST IN THE UNITED STATES, and is used to generate hydroelectric power to cities throughout the west. Later today we visited GLEN CANYON DAM. Overnight in Page. DINNER included this evening. 

September 16, 2026, Day 7: BREAKFAST included. Today we left Page and travel northwest into UTAH. By late morning we arrive in BEAUTIFUL ZION NATIONAL PARK. Huge, sculpted rock formations coexist with hanging gardens surrounded by colorful desert terrain. JOURNEY THROUGH ZION CANYON, a spectacular gorge being carved through strangely colored sandstones and shale by the Virgin River. JOURNEY NORTH TO BRYCE CITY for DINNER and OVERNIGHT at the BEST WESTERN RUBY’S INN. 

September 17, 2026, Day 8: BREAKFAST included. Today we visited spectacular BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK which features some of the world’s most colorful rocks, sculpted by erosion into pillars and other fantastic forms. A GUIDED TOUR THROUGHOUT THE PARK will provide several photo stops. Continue to GREEN RIVER for DINNER and OVERNIGHT. 

September 18, 2026, Day 9: BREAKFAST included. Morning departure from Green River aboard AMTRAK’S CALIFORNIA ZEPHYR. Enjoy a DELIGHTFUL TRAIN RIDE THROUGH THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS AND ENJOY SOME OF THIS COUNTRY’S MOST SPECTACULAR VIEWS. Later this evening we arrive in DENVER for a brief stop before continuing east toward Chicago. OVERNIGHT ON AMTRAK in selected train accommodations. 

September 19, 2026, Day 10: The ZEPHYR follows the trail of pioneers, gold prospectors, and the Pony Express along the earliest transcontinental rail route. Enjoy the vast open farmlands of Nebraska and Iowa as we make our way to the CHICAGO AREA FOR THE FINAL NIGHT AT THE HAMPTON INN. 

September 20, 2026, Day 11: This morning, following an INCLUDED BREAKFAST at the hotel, we board our motor coach and begin our final journey home. En route rest and meal stops will be made periodically.
