We will begin our day with a visit to the MOUNT MORRIS DAM and recreation area - a major flood control project and public park located on the Genesee River near the Village of Mount Morris. Our visit includes a presentation by a representative of the Army Corps of Engineers at the DAM OVERLOOK, A 12 MINUTE MOVIE ABOUT THE DAM and time at the VISITOR CENTER which offers INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS featuring Mount Morris Dam History and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Next, we're off to the historic AVON INN for a sit down LUNCH. The Avon Inn was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1989. Experience elegant dining in the timeless charm of the historic Avon Inn, where classic cuisine meets rich history in the heart of Avon, NY. After lunch, we will make our way to THE ABBEY OF THE GENESEE, the home of the Cistercian Monks. We will arrive in time to visit the 2:00 pm Chapel Monk's Chant. Be sure to stop at the GIFT SHOP to purchase several varieties of MONKS BREAD. We've included a cinnamon maple loaf to take home! Our final stop of the dya is DEER RUN WINERY. Nestled near Conesus Lake in the Finger Lakes region, Deer Run Winery offers handcrafted wines in a scenic, family-owned setting. Enjoy a WINE TASTING with stunning vineyard views and a welcoming atmosphere. INCLUDES A WINE AND CHEESE & CHOCOLATE EXPERIENCE. This is a sampling of their four best-selling wines. Conesus White pairs with cheese, Runaway Red paired with cheese, Pebble Beach Blush paired with a chocolate truffle and Max Black paired with a peanut butter cup. Guests have an opportunity, if you wish, to TOUR THE PRODUCTION FACILITY ALONG WITH A GUIDED TALK LED BY THE WINE MAKER. Don't miss out on this beautiful fall "Dam Good Trip." 

NOTE: Due to the Abbey of the Genesee being a Catholic Monastery, not a tourist attraction, the "Chant" at the Chapel cannot be guaranteed. The Chapel will be open for guests to visit. Chant is daily at 2:00 PM.

AVON INN NOTE: Based on the guidelines from the State Historical Preservation Office, the Avon Inn is exempt from ADA Compliance due to the age of the building. they do offer a chair lift for guests with mobility issues.
